THE Wild Violet Wedding Cars Annual Charity Cruise will leave Pakenham bound for Noojee next month.
Up to 100 classic pre-1985 cars will cruise in the name of charity on Saturday 8 December and the event will raise money for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation.
Jackie and Adam Davey of Wild Violet Wedding Cars organised the event for the first time last year, which supported the Variety Club.
“We are running the cruise to have like-minded classic car enthusiasts get together and enjoy a cruise in their pride and joy while raising money for a great charity,” Ms Davey said.
Peter MacCullum Cancer Foundation was chosen because the Davey’s had been personally touched by cancer this year.
“I think everyone in some point of their lives has been touched by cancer and that is how we came about choosing the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation,” she said.
The cars will meet at the BP Service Station on the Pakenham Bypass (outbound) at 10am for an 11am departure. People are also welcome to view the cars on display before they depart. The Noojee Hotel is putting on live music, kids’ corner and Pot’n’Parma or Pot’n’Roast deal for all the participants. There will also be a raffle with great prizes to be won on the day.
Entry is $5 per car, paid on the day, and a gold coin donation for passengers and spectators.
