Not all business

By BRIDGET COOK

IT was a sea of black and white as the Hampton Park business community turned out to celebrate a milestone occasion this month.
The Hampton Park Networking Group (HPNG) held a black and white ball on Saturday 20 July to celebrate the group’s 10th birthday.
More than 100 people packed the Arthur Wren Hall for a night of fun with entertainment provided by a Michael Jackson impersonator along with a three-course dinner.
HPNG president Vanassa Gerdes addressed the crowd and said it was great to be celebrating the special occasion.
“We have come a long way since 2003 when the Hampton Park Networking Group first started,” she said.
“The past 10 years we have been very productive, running over 130 events.
“We have four major events every year and lots of mini projects which have had positive impacts on the business community.
“It could not have been achieved had I not had the support of the executive team, members and volunteers with their vision, dedication and inspiration to build the businesses and community.”
Ms Gerdes said she looked forward to the next 10 years of growth.
“I am confident that the future outlook for the HPNG is good,” she said.
“Our formula remains the same as it was the day we started – put the business community interests first and growth will follow.
“The HPNG cherished and is enriched by enthusiastic and talented members in the business community.
“HPNG is supportive of businesses and community aspirations and dreams.
“The energy that draws them together is the pursuit of our vision – preparing for the future the businesses community.”
