New building, fresh hope

AS St Patrick’s Primary School celebrated the opening of a new building, the difficult times of the school and community were not far from mind.
Students, parents, teachers and local dignitaries were joined by Bishop of Sale Reverend Christopher Prowse in the official blessing and opening of the Learning Community Building on Tuesday morning.
“As we begin our services, we acknowledge the difficulty of the present time within the community of St Patrick’s and we look forward with prayerful hope to the future,” Acting Principal Rosa Mitchell said as she began the ceremony.
All those present shared in song and prayer in celebration of the official opening of the school’s newest building.
The middle school building includes teacher spaces, open classrooms, art space and a theatre.
Bishop Prowse also addressed those present by saying every community had good times and bad.
He unveiled and blessed a plaque honouring the opening of the building.
Guests were given tours of the Learning Community Building by school captains and treated to a light morning tea.
