CREATING more opportunity to participate has been the driving force behind Casey Cardinia Netball’s decision to expand its competition next year.
Representatives from the 10 Casey Cardinia league clubs met with governing body PCN Sports Alliance last week and committed to Target 100 – an initiative that will see all clubs strive to field 10 teams next season.
The vision is for two competitions to run at under 13, 15 and 17 levels, with C Grade complimented by the introduction of a C Reserve grade. A Grade and B Grade will remain unchanged.
“It’s part of PCN’s mission statement to encourage the participation of families in both playing and non-playing aspects,” PCN chief executive Jeff Jones said.
IN football news, Jones has left the door open for the seven Ellinbank and District league clubs earmarked to form an EDFL West Division next year to discuss a possible future in the Casey Cardinia Football League.
“If that’s the case and those clubs wanted to talk, of course the door would be open,” was Jones’ response to Tooradin president Derek Genoni’s suggestion that Bunyip, Catani, Cora Lynn, Garfield, Kooweerup, Lang Lang and Nar Nar Goon should explore their options and give PCN a call.
