Sports club kicks a winner

PAKENHAM Sports Club edged out the competition to be named Victoria’s best bistro.
The local venue was declared the winner in the 2013 Clubs Victoria Chef’s Table Awards.
Manager Julie Smith had not expected to win among such a strong field.
“I was so surprised when we were announced as the winner,” she said
“I knew we would do well but we were up against such tough competition, I hadn’t expected to win.”
Operations manager Brad Ford was proud of the effort all the staff put in to making the venue an award winner.
“This award is a credit to the entire team at the Pakenham Sports Club, particularly manager Julie Smith and our wonderful chefs who were judged the best, led by Salli Ann Langoor,” he said.
Winning chef Salli-Ann Langoor was appointed the permanent chef at Pakenham Sports Club in 2012 and quickly made an impact at the sports club.
The awards are judged based on the quality of food and the service provided and winners are determined by mystery shoppers who visit each of the venues to assess customer dining experience.
The Best Bistro award is given to the venue that demonstrates the highest standards of customer service, venue presentation and food quality during these visits.
