Ride for kids

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

A little deed can go a long way, and an even bigger deed goes even further.
This will certainly be the case when Narre Warren McDonald’s licensee Howard Armitage sets out on the annual Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Ride for Sick Kids later this month.
Mr Armitage will embark on the 700-kilometre ride on Saturday 24 August, making his way across Victoria.
Along the way he will pass through Shepparton, Yarrawonga, Albury, Benalla, Seymour, and Bundoora, before finishing at Ronald McDonald House Monash on Friday 30 August.
Mr Armitage, who is participating in the ride for the third time, said he is hoping to raise as much money as he can to put towards the RMHC target of $250,000.
“We need the people of Narre Warren to get behind us,” Mr Armitage said.
“The course for this year’s ride is sure to be testing, but we know it’s nothing compared with the challenges faced by families currently staying in the houses with seriously ill children.”
All funds raised will go towards the two Victorian Ronald McDonald Houses in Monash and Parkville.
