A BASKET of groceries and goodies will go a long way when it comes to helping families in need.
The Pakenham Bendigo Bank branch donated two baskets of canned goods and items provided by staff and customers.
Deb Porter from the 4Cs said the Pakenham bank had been a long supporter of the organisation.
“It is meant to be primarily for Bendigo Bank staff so that the users of the bank and customers can donate goods,” she said.
“Normally we get a basket full of groceries but this year they filled a second basket, they had to put a second basket out.
“We are just blown away by the community support and we are so appreciative of their help.”
Ms Porter said increasingly the community was more aware of the work of the 4Cs. She said this time of year was particularly important to have the support.
“One thing that we do really well is food, in that we are good at providing families with food that they need,” she said.
Ms Porter said it was particularly touching that the bank initiated the project themselves and thanked the staff for their ongoing support.
