Fountain of giving

MORE than $7000 was raised to help local children living with disabilities at a fun event at Fountain Gate this month.
Westfield Fountain Gate hosted GiveAbility Day which raised $7626 for local charity Yooralla on 6 July to support local children living with a disability and their families.
GiveAbility Day took place across all Westfield centres nationally and involved volunteers from Westfield and Yooralla collecting donations from shoppers while children enjoyed fun activities such as balloon modeling, face painting, spin the wheel, a petting zoo and donut decorating.
Jon Bot from Yooralla said he was grateful for the support of Westfield and the local community.
“The funds raised will impact the lives of our kids in a positive way by providing a social skills program and sensory resources,” Mr Bot said.
Westfield Fountain Gate centre manager Jonathan Codman said he was thrilled with the event’s success.
“GiveAbility Day is a testament to the generosity of the Fountain Gate community,” Mr Bot said.
“We’re proud to support Yooralla and the work they do to make a genuine difference to the lives of children living with a disability and their families.”
Anyone wanting to donate can do so by visitng www.westfield.com.au and purchasing an item from its GiveAbility page.
