Anytime is a good time to get fit

By NICOLE WILLIAMS

WITH a common goal to make Pakenham a healthier place, three businesses have joined forces.
Push Taekwondo, GNC Pakenham and Anytime Fitness are offering Pakenham women a free 10 week lean body program.
Founder Michelle Hext of Push Taekwondo said the program was a good kick start to a healthier future.
“It is really about getting women in Pakenham to really embrace being fit and healthy,” she said.
“It is bigger than weight loss, it is about being healthy and setting really strong habits that help set them up for healthy lifestyle.”
The free 10 week program includes a week-by-week menu plan, recipes, a week-by-week work-out plan and ongoing support.
Ms Hext said the program was designed for women who are the change makers in the family.
“It starts with women but it contributes to having a healthy family,” she said.
“In my years of doing this I have seen that if women set about changing habits, everyone else in the house does too – it trickles down.”
The businesses have come together to fund the program as well as put together welcome packs if residents are to attend any one of the businesses.
Matt Morris, manager of Anytime Fitness, said staff wanted to provide a comfortable environment for participants to complete the work-out plan.
“We are doing everything we can to make Pakenham the healthiest town in Australia,” he said.
“You can do anything for three months, it is not a long time to commit to something and you will be surprised of the results you can see in that time.”
The program officially kicks off on Friday 5 July and the program is hoping to attract 1000 participants.
“We’d like to see that grow and grow,” Ms Hext said.
“Pakenham is a big town so the more we can get on board the better.”
Anyone interested in the program can visit www.pushtkd.com.au or drop into GNC or Anytime Fitness.
