Weight loss health gain

By BRIDGET COOK

WHEN Daniel Cini got to a point in his life where he didn’t know if he was going to make it to 40, he knew he had to do something about his weight.
The life-changing moment came for the Hampton Park resident when he was 35 years old.
“In late 2010 I was 130 kilo,” he said.
“After playing with my son, who was two at the time, I began to run out of breath.
“At the time I was 35 and I can clearly remember saying to myself ‘am I going to reach 40’?”
“On that day I decided to change my life.”
Mr Cini has since embarked on a weight loss journey and turned his life around.
Fast forward eight months from that day and Mr Cini was 50kg lighter and a new man.
For six months he followed a high protein, low carb diet plan and walked for a minimum of 30 minutes a day.
After losing the first 30kg in six months he had to work hard to lose more and started to follow a cardio and weight training program.
“I made the change after not being happy with myself and wanting to set a good example for my children by living a healthier lifestyle,” he said.
“I can’t believe where I am now, I sometimes think that I’ve never been this fit in my life.
“My teenager knows now that it’s never too late to change your life and that only you can make the change.”
Mr Cini then decided to go one step further and turned his new found hobby into a career and enrolled at the Australian Institute of Fitness.
He has now graduated as a personal trainer at Jetts Lynbrook gym and is helping others who are in a similar situation as he was to turn their lives around.
“After so many people wanting to know how I did it, I decided that this was something I wanted to do for a living,” he said.
“Helping others in a similar situation to myself was something I loved to do.
“You always hear successful people saying that if there is something you love to do which you are good at, then you should do that.
“If you are truly good at it, then don’t worry about the money.”
Mr Cini said he can never see himself going back to his old habits.
“I am always challenging my fitness and I hope I never lose that fire,” he said.
“In regards to my career in the fitness industry, I used to work in a factory for over 20 years.
“PT is what I love, helping overweight people change their lives gives enormous satisfaction.”
