Sporting grants for uniforms

A PAKENHAM sporting clubs will have crisp new uniforms soon, thanks to Victorian Government funding.
Lakeside Sailing Club will receive a grant of up to $1000 as part of the latest round of funding for the sporting uniform grants program.
Member for Gembrook Brad Battin said the club was among 337 across the state to receive grants up to $1000, including Cockatoo Bowls Club.
“This grant not only provides a boost for these clubs, but ensures more members of the community, whatever their skill level or background, get the chance to represent the club and join in the fun,” Mr Battin said.
“More importantly, through the program we’re removing a crucial barrier and increasing participation, which is a key priority for the Victorian Government.”
Minister for Sport and Recreation Hugh Delahunty said the grants went a long way towards boosting team morale, connecting communities and could play an integral role in motivating more people to get more active more often.
“Team uniforms are more than just colours, they represent local sporting traditions and community pride,” Mr Delahunty said.
“That is why we are proud to deliver the sporting uniform grants program,” he said.
