Pre-loved gear for much-loved sport

MELBOURNE Demon players stormed into town on Tuesday to promote a partnership between Australia Post and the AFL, all the while encouraging the community to donate old sporting equipment.
Yvonne Pleiter, manager of the Pakenham Post Office, said Australia Post enjoyed having a visit from AFL multicultural ambassador David Rodan and his Melbourne teammates.
She said the Australia Post AFL Community Camps were a great opportunity to bring residents together to promote a healthy, active and inclusive community.
Australia Post has joined forces with Boots for All to encourage community members to donate their quality, second-hand football boots and equipment to the program through their local post office.
The boots and equipment will be distributed to teams across Australia which are socially or geographically disadvantaged or new to Australia’s indigenous game.
“The more equipment we receive, the more kids that can benefit, so if you have any pre-loved footy boots or jumpers in good condition, it’s easy to donate them to your local Australia Post retail outlet,” Mr Rodan said.
“This is a fantastic program that helps thousands of kids and adults have the opportunity to play our great game.”
