Storm cracks the big one

AT the end of just its third year in this age group, Gippsland Storm Elite Development Netball Club has broken through to claim its first ever under-13 premiership in the Waverley Night Netball Association grand finals.
Storm coach Hannah Murnane could barely contain the emotions as the Storm first pulled out to a reasonable lead in the last quarter only to be pegged back by a determined team from Waverley City. The Storm rallied from there on to post a fairly comfortable 24 to 18 win.
Parents, supporters and coaches were out in force on Thursday night to cheer the girls on and all the girls played extremely well with Pakenham’s Christine Meyer winning the best on court award for a dominant display of goal shooting.
“We deserve this,” coach Murnane said after the game.“We have worked hard and had winners all over the court on the night.
“Credit to Waverley City as they never gave up and played hard until the final whistle.”
