Preps showcase talents

SEASONS’ Greetings cards distributed to residents in Narre Warren North are decorated with artwork by talented local prep students.
School children across the electorate took part in an art competition run through the office of Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan.
Hundreds of entries from six schools were entered, and 15 were chosen by a panel of residents and selected to appear on the Seasons’ Greetings cards.
“I thought it was a great way to show off the artistic skills of our local kids to the whole community,” Mr Donnellan said.
“The quality of the artwork was very high, which is great to see. The panel took some time in choosing their favourites.
“Every child who entered should be proud of their fantastic artwork,”
Visiting Thomas Mitchell Primary School to present certificates of appreciation, Mr Donnellan said local schools were doing a great job of supporting and promoting creativity in their students.
“We have some great schools in Casey, whose teachers promote creativity as part of the curriculum,” Mr Donnellan said.
“Local schools deserve more support from Government for the work they do,”
Schools which entered the competition were Thomas Mitchell Primary School, Endeavour Hills; Narre Warren North Primary School, Narre Warren North; Harkaway Primary School, Harkaway; Timbarra P-9 College, Berwick; Oatlands Primary School, Narre Warren and Maramba Primary School, Narre Warren.
Certificates were awarded to all children who took part in the competition and winning entries received a copy of the Seasons’ Greetings card featuring their artwork as well as a gift certificate.
