FOR an action-packed family day out, Pakenham Agricultural Society’s 101st show at Pakenham Racecourse is the place to be.
The dog high jump, rural iron man and rural iron woman events, gumboot throwing and paper plane competition will be among the crowd pleasers, and these events always create tremendous interest.
Among the entertainment, there will be The Kazoos (children’s entertainers), the Magic Punch and Judy Show, Janis Godfrey, roaming on stilts; Mojo the Clown, Travis Scott with his Lanarch Kelpie working dogs, a reptile display, Ray Gard, with his Raven forge; Wacca, the Koala Drummer (a regular and popular entertainer at Pakenham) and circus dogs with a dog stage show.
Other regulars will include the Cardinia Civic Concert Band, Animals on the Move, with their animal farm and ‘bush babies;’ the dunking machine (with a list of notable ‘volunteers’ already lined up), taekwon do demonstration, and much, much more.
The Rural Ambassador Award and Junior Show Personalities (five sections) always attract good entries.
As the show coincides with St Patrick’s Day on Saturday 17 March, a green theme for the day is being developed with emphasis on gardening and numerous other activities and features yet to be developed.
Show schedules are now available from secretary Des Wynne on 0408 117 709.
