Sweet swinging

THE weather is warming up and local Rotary members are practicing their golf swing to raise money to benefit Casey residents.
The Rotary Clubs of Narre Warren and Endeavour Hills, with the support of the City of Casey and R&C Asphalt Paving will host the 2011 Mayoral Shield Charity Golf Day at Cranbourne Golf Club on Friday 18 November.
City of Casey Mayor Shar Balmes said the council was once again pleased to support this annual event with a major sponsorship.
“Local communities gain from the wonderful work done by our Rotary clubs, and the funds raised from the Mayoral Shield Charity Golf Day will continue to assist and benefit Casey residents,” Cr Balmes said.
Golf day convener Rotarian Steve Shutt says hit-off times are 8am and 1pm in a shotgun start with Ambrose team events for men and women.
“Two hole-in-one prizes are on offer, as well as for the longest drive and nearest the pin. Players can enjoy a sit-down lunch or dinner after competing over the 18 holes,” Mr Shutt said.
Rotary Club of Narre Warren President Roger McGill and Rotary Club of Endeavour Hills President John O’Reilly say they are thankful for all their sponsors and encourage local golfers to join in this popular Rotary event.
The cost of participating is $75 per player (Cranbourne Golf Club members $65) and sponsorship inquiries are also invited.
Contact Roger McGill 0429 345 627 or Steve Shutt 0411 597 863 for information.
