SINCE she was nine years old, Emma Duggan has been looking forward to the day she would turn 11.
That day will come tomorrow (Friday).
The Berwick resident said for two years she has been dreaming about celebrating her eleventh birthday on the 11 November, 2011.
“I remember when I was nine, I thought about it a lot,” she said.
“It’s pretty cool and my friends think it’s pretty cool too.”
Her mother Jeanie said Emma had been “absolutely beside herself” in the weeks leading up to her birthday.
“It’s a very special birthday,” Ms Duggan said.
“She is very excited.”
Emma said she was also honoured to be having her birthday on Remembrance Day and will pay tribute to fallen soldiers during a minute of silence at her school.
After school, she will then celebrate her big day with her family including 13-year-old brother Jack, and then again on 12 November with her friends.
Emma said the best thing about turning 11 was being one step closer to being a teenager.
