GLENEAGLES Secondary College are getting a healthy and positive kick-start to their day, thanks to their successful Breakfast Club program.
The Breakfast Club feeds about 80 students every Friday between 7.30am and 8.15am. Students and staff across various year levels attend and ensure everything runs efficiently.
Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan is supporting the school’s efforts and said the program was vital for many students to get a healthy and positive start to their school day.
“The benefits of the Breakfast Club at Gleneagles are enormous. It’s so important that students get a healthy start to the day so I’m happy to be involved in the program,” Mr Donnellan said.
Gleneagles Secondary College Student Well-being Co-ordinator Maxine Foster said the program was more than providing students with breakfast.
“It’s not just about having a nourishing breakfast; it’s also about the positive start to the day and the friendship and welcome that is extended to everyone,” Ms Foster said,
“Sponsorship from Mr Donnellan assists the Breakfast Program to keep going from strength to strength!” Mr Donnellan said it was vital for many students, who may not be able to eat at home, to have access to healthy food and a positive atmosphere before their school day. “Breakfast clubs like this are a testament of how supportive the school community is for all students, and I’m very happy to be involved,” he said.
