THE Victoria Australia Day ambassadors who will be visiting Casey for celebrations next year were announced at a recent reception held in their honour.
A volunteer for Building Better Lives and Victorian Young Australian of the Year Finalist Anj Barker was named the Australia Day Ambassador, and will be attending celebrations on 26 January in Hampton Park.
Former CEO of the Royal District Nursing Service Dan Romanis will be attending celebrations in Cranbourne East, former chairman of Racing Victoria Limited Graham Duff will be attending celebrations in Berwick and CEO of Sacred Heart Mission and a Victorian Australian of the Year Finalist in 2010 Michael Perusco will be attending celebrations in Doveton.
The four are part of a diverse group of 147 Victorians who will support local Australia Day celebrations by inspiring local communities and taking part in a range of activities and presentations.
The ambassador program has been running since 1996 in Victoria and supports more than 100 communities across the state. The program began running in all states and territories in 2008.
