Set in stone

A COMMEMORATIVE stone was unveiled at Hillcrest Christian College last week to mark the Clyde North school’s 30th birthday.
Students and staff celebrated the school’s birthday by making flags and stick pins.
Principal Dr Daniel Pampuch unveiled a commemorative sandstone block which has been placed in the front garden of the college between the Discovery Centre and the Administration building.
The plaque recognises the beginnings of the college at Nyora in 1981 and its move to Clyde North in 1996.
The block also contains five central tenets on which Hillcrest Christian College was established including God-centred education, academic excellence, personal integrity, evangelistic outreach and innovation.
Celebrations will continue at the term three whole school service with a guest speaker and former student Luke Smithard who is the school’s outdoor education and equestrian teacher.
