STUDENTS at Hillcrest Christian College are getting set to perform the musical production ‘Honk’.
The play will be performed from 2 June until 4 June in the new theatre.
Honk is based on Hans Christian Andersen’s tale of the ugly duckling, preaching a message of tolerance and acceptance, an important lesson for high school students.
The cast is made up of students from middle to senior school.
Sheryl Anderson, the performing arts assistant at the school, believes audiences will be moved by the production, saying she shed a few tears.
“I was watching the lead role, Kristy Kelffrom from Year 12, and she sings so beautifully,” she said.
The play tells the story of a baby duck, named Ugly, who loses his way in search for his mother.
He falls in love along the journey, eventually finding his mother.
The production will be performed at Hillcrest Christian College Theatre on 500, Soldiers Road, Clyde North, with entry via gate 3.
Shows will be staged on the 2, 3 and 4 June, 2011. Shows commence at 7.30pm and tickets can be purchased on line at: www.trybooking.com/9862.
