Fillies, fun and frivolity at Girls Night Out

IT WAS a big night of harness racing at Cranbourne on Saturday – when the program was named ‘Girls Night Out’.
The grown-up “fillies” had a lot of fun, while there were some impressive fillies on the track.
And the most fun was had in the mobile barrier started Decron Tandem Bike Sprint, where five teams used pedal power in a race up the straight.
Some of the top drivers in the country, were seen racing on tandem bikes. The crowd loved it.
However, the biggest stars of the show were the smaller humans – and horses. And two of the biggest drawcards, and happiest people, were Blake Pace and Laura Douglas, who were snapped by News photographer Donna Oates.
Meanwhile, the Cranbourne Harness Racing Club, who put on the successful Girls Night Out, will have a bias towards lawn bowls at its meeting on Sunday week.
The CHRC will welcome bowlers at the annual harness racing evening for bowls club. Last year around 300 people attended.
All bowlers, and their friends and relations, will have the chance to win two $100 gift vouchers from the Dandenong-based Highway Bowls Centre.
