VOLUNTEER organisations in the City of Casey are urged to attend one of two training workshops offered at the Civic Centre in February and March.
The workshops follow changes made recently to legislation covering volunteers.
They will be held on Thursday 24 February at 10am and Thursday 10 March at 7pm.
The City of Casey’s manager of community strengthening, Janette Green, said the changes impacted regulations and expectations of volunteers in Victoria and organisations needed to be aware of the changes and act accordingly.
She said volunteer organisations must now respond to a variety of risk-management issues, including changes to the laws governing associations and the inclusion of volunteers in sexual harassment and work safety laws.
The free workshops are presented by Volunteering Victoria in partnership with the City of Casey. Places are limited and bookings are essential.
