Thumbs up for safety

CASEY Safety Village has been given huge thumbs up by the CFA chief officer during a recent trip to Southern Metropolitan Victoria.
Casey Safety Village is the only purpose-built centre in the state to deliver fire and road safety education to kindergarten and primary road safety, bicycling and pedestrian skills.
More than 8000 people attended the Casey Safety Village each year since it opened in 2009. The Children’s Safety Village delivers both fire and road safety education to children.
CFA chief officer Euan Ferguson congratulated both the Casey Council and the southern metropolitan CFA team for delivering a memorable and hands-on fire and safety experience to thousands of children.
“Teachers, schools and families all have a vital role to play in creating safer communities,” Mr Ferguson said.
“I would thoroughly recommend a visit to this facility and I’m looking forward to seeing it grow.”
City of Casey acting director of Community Development, Caroline Bell, said the City of Casey was committed to providing a comprehensive safety program for the entire Casey community at the Casey Safety Village.
“Not only does the centre provide important road and safety awareness through its diverse programs aimed at different age levels, it also enhances vital skills for everyday living,” she said.
