Casey’s calling for carers

THE City of Casey has put the call out for carers to join its family day care service- the largest in Australia.
More than 2500 children up to 12 years of age are cared for in the homes of almost 300 registered carers as part of the service.
Care is available for long days, before and after kindergarten and school, and at playgroups.
Casey’s manager of children’ services Virginia Lloyd said family day care was the most widely used child care service in Casey.
“Families benefit by accessing an affordable and flexible service that provides quality child care in a home environment and carers can build an enjoyable and rewarding career in child care,” Ms Lloyd said.
Carers must undertake a Police Check and a Working With Children Check as well as having first aid qualifications and be prepared to complete required child care qualifications.
An information session for interested people will be held from 7pm to 8.30pm on 16 February. Topics covered will include selection criteria, quality standards and provided support.
Bookings are essential as numbers are limited. Call the City of Casey family day care by 5pm on 15 February on 9705 5410.
