Cup Day sexual assault probed

POLICE are searching for two men who allegedly sexually assaulted a Narre Warren South woman in Frankston last month.
The 32-year-old woman was approach-ed by four men about 3.30am on Melbourne Cup Day (2 November), while she was waiting for a friend on the corner of the Nepean Highway and Playne Street.
Detectives said the men coaxed the woman into walking with them along the Frankston Beach boardwalk before one man grabbed her and held her while a second man sexually assaulted her.
Some other men were in close proximity, but offered no assistance.
After a second sexual assault by the same two men, the group fled north along Kananook Creek.
“It was an opportunistic attack which has left the victim traumatised,” Detective Acting Sergeant David Quirk said.
Detectives have released images of the two men, both aged in their early 20s.
One is described as being Caucasian, about 177cm tall with messy hair and blond tips. He was wearing a pair of white-framed sunglasses and a checked shirt.
The second man is described as being Caucasian, with a lean build, about 182cm tall with short shaved hair.
He was possibly wearing a pink or red ‘Rusty’ T-shirt at the time.
Police are seeking the assistance of the public who may have seen something or recognise the two men. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
