THE Commonwealth Bankhas provided a much-needed donation to the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring program in Casey and Cardinia.
The Commonwealth Bank Community grant of $9700 will help Big Brothers Big Sisters of outer south-east Melbourne expand their group mentoring program – The Big Brotherhood – in Casey and surrounding areas.
Big Brothers Big Sisters provides one-on-one or group mentoring services to young people between seven and 25 years old in need of additional adult support.
Big Brothers Big Sisters in the south-east is one of the largest programs in Victoria with more than 40 young people currently matched, although some children wait up to 12 months for a mentor.
The grant is one of 69 grants made through the Commonwealth Bank Staff Community Fund which is supported by current and retired Commonwealth Bank employees.
The grants are provided to help fund community groups around Australia.
