Leaders stay on form- Buckley Ridges bowler Luke Fletcher prepares to deliver during his side’s nine-wicket win over North Dandenong in Turf 1 action on Saturday. 56789 Picture: Kim Cartmell

RAIN reduced the Round 4 fixtures of the Dandenong and District Cricket Association to one-day matches. The results ran to script with the leading teams easily defeating their lower ranked opponents.

Hallam-Kalora Park v Narre Warren

HALLAM-Kalora Park chased down the difficult total of 174 to defeat Narre Warren at Hallam Recreation Reserve.
After the openers failed, Narre Warren’s middle order salvaged the innings to conclude its allotted overs on 6/174.
Dwayne Scott (60 not out) and Nick Shirt (37 not out) combined for 84 runs for the sixth wicket. Cory Booth and Martin Jakins both took 2/24.
Booth then guided his team to victory with a brilliant 83 not out. His innings was the cornerstone of the Hallam-Kalora Park as he formed crucial partnerships with John Hammond (31) and Jagveer Hayer (23). Chris Jarrett was Narre Warren’s only multiple wicket-taker, finishing with 2/31.

@BT Sub Sport News:Berwick v Mordialloc

BERWICK kept top spot on the ladder with a convincing six wicket win over Mordialloc at Arch Brown Reserve. Mordialloc batted first and were quickly reduced to 3/14. On the back of 33 from Stuart Squires and some handy batting from David Edmunds and Liam Bence down the order, Mordialloc posted 118. Brett Davis took 3/19. Berwick recovered from a poor start to easily chase down the total. Captain Paul Evans (46 not out) and Josh Holden (34) batted Berwick to victory. Tim Kennedy was Mordialloc’s best bowler with 2/30.

@BT Sub Sport News:Keysborough v Doveton

DOVETON captain Ryan Hendy guided his team to an impressive 61-run win over Keysborough at Robinson Reserve. Hendy (73) was supported by Jason Arnberger (40) and Brad Downe (24) as Doveton finished on 7/177. Keysborough began strongly before losing its first wicket at 41, but lost its last six wickets for 31 runs. Matthew Hutchinson claimed 3/16. Andre Peters top-scored with 51.

HSD v Narre North

NARRE North recovered from its near-fatal decision to bowl first to defeat HSD by three wickets at Reedy Reserve. HSD posted the imposing total of 6/196 after its 40 overs. Trevor Davies (54) and Adam Semmens (50) provided the foundation at the top of the innings. Athula Samarasekera was Narre North’s best bowler with figures of 2/44. Narre North’s chase went down to the last over and they nudged ahead with three balls remaining.

@BT Sub Sport News:Maranatha Methodist v Southern Pirates

MARANATHA Methodist defeated the Southern Pirates by three-wickets at Strathaird Reserve. The Southern Pirates were bowled out for 147 in the 34th over. Scott Etherington top-scored with 65. Nayantha Weeraman (4/15) and Richard Hope (3/16) ran through the batting order. Maranatha were patient in its reply, taking until the second last over to win the match. Weeraman’s prominent day continued as he top scored with 57. Matthew Perry took 3/43.

@BT Sub Sport News:Fountain Gate v Springvale South

FOUNTAIN Gate claimed its maiden win by holding off determined cellar dwellers Springvale South at Max Pawsey Reserve. Stephen White (59), John Mirranay (34) and Daniel Ferguson (25) guided Fountain Gate to 8/184.
Gavin Fewkes was the only Springvale South bowler to claim multiple wickets, finishing with 2/29.

@BT Sub Sport News:Lyndale v Cranbourne

LYNDALE held its place in the top four with a six-wicket win over Cranbourne at Barry Powell Reserve. Cranbourne posted 7/177 after batting first. Although every Cranbourne batter made a promising start, the highest score was just 38, made by Robert Cleland.
Ben Montgomery figures of 2/38 were Lyndale’s best in a performance where all of its bowlers were expensive. Lyndale made a shaky start, but were steadied by Rory Ingram (56 not out), Sumudu Athurugiri (42) and Jaime Brohier (32) and passed Cranbourne’s total with two overs to spare. Cranbourne’s best bowler was Richard Saniga (2/19).

@BT Sub Sport News:St Brigids/St Louis v Hampton Park

ST BRIGIDS/St Louis defeated Hampton Park by six wickets at Bondi Oval. Steve Jamieson crafted 54 for St Brigids/St Louis, helping his team to a final total of 9/151. In reply, Hampton Park cruised to victory with six overs to spare.
