ANNALIECE Simonis is dancing her way to the top.
The Berwick resident has been accepted to the prestigious National Theatre Ballet School after an audition in October.“I felt very excited and relieved that all my hard work has paid off,” Ms Simonis said.
As part of the audition, she danced with current students and sat an interview with the principal. She received the offer the same day.
Ms Simonis hopes to pursue a career in contemporary dance after her accreditation with the National Theatre Ballet School.
Beaconhills College deputy head of performing arts Michelle Salewski said she was very proud of Ms Simonis who is highly motivated, disciplined and very passionate about dance.
“I have no doubt she will reach her goal of becoming a professional in the contemporary field of dance,” she said.
The three-year course includes a rigorous six-day training schedule, which will set Ms Simonis up to teach dance and audition for work with professional dance companies.
