Two girls assaulted

POLICE have called for public assistance after two girls aged nine and 16 were sexually assaulted at Fountain Gate Shopping Centre.
The two incidents took place in separate areas of the shopping centre between 4.40pm and 5pm last Wednesday.
The two girls were not known to each other.
The man involved has been described as being in his mid40s, balding, Caucasian, of solid build and wearing a lightcoloured buttonup shortsleeve shirt with blue jeans and black laceup shoes.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Wilcox of Narre Warren Police said they had video footage of the man they wanted to speak to in relation to the assaults.
Det Sen Sgt Wilcox described the attacks as “brazen”, as both girls were shopping with their mothers when the incidents occurred.
“You should be able to go shopping without being assaulted,” he said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
