Three charged over cocaine haul

AN ENDEAVOUR Hills man has been arrested for his alleged role in an international cocaine smuggling ring.
The 51-year-old was one of three men nabbed after Australian Federal Police (AFP) raided several houses across Melbourne last Tuesday week.
A 35-year-old Meadow Heights man and a 41-year-old Hawthorn man were also arrested after AFP agents executed search warrants in St Kilda, Tullamarine, Hawthorn, Dandenong, Carlton and Endeavour Hills.
AFP liaised with law enforcement agencies in South America, USA and the Pacific region during the investigation that resulted in almost 12 kilograms of cocaine being seized in several international locations.
AFP believes smuggling methods included employing couriers and hiding drugs within baby products.
The Endeavour Hills man is charged with two counts of conspiring to import a marketable quantity of a border-controlled drug and one count of aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring the importation of a marketable quantity of a border-controlled drug.
The Hawthorn man is charged with three counts of conspiring to import a marketable quantity of a border-controlled drug, three counts of conspiring to import a commercial quantity of a border-controlled drug and one count of aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring the importation of a marketable quantity of a border-controlled drug.
