Thieves target homes

THIEVES stole from a car and house during a double burglary at Narre Warren last week.
Police said a garage door remote control was stolen from a white Holden Crewman between 11pm on last Tuesday and 7am the following day.
The remote was then used to gain access to the James Court garage. Once inside the thieves stole a drill, camera and car stereo valued at a total of $4000.
Narre Warren Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Wilcox said residents may need to remove garage remote controls from their cars each night.
“It may involve taking a bit more time each day but it could stop a theft,” Det Sen Sgt Wilcox said.

A RANGEof items were stolen from a Hallam house recently.
The Mulguthrie Court property was entered between 9pm and 11.30pm on Thursday, 22 March.
Police said four video games consoles, a camera and sports shoes were stolen during the burglary.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact Narre Warren Police on 9705 3111.

THIEVES made the most of a vacant Narre Warren house recently when they stole $4500 of goods.
Police said the Clarinda Drive property was burgled while the occupants were away between 17 March and 26 March.
Access was gained by forcing the side door of a garage, with a Yamaha motorbike, ski goggles, boots, a helmet and a toolbox all stolen.
