THE Berwick Show is coming to town this weekend and it’s set to be bigger and better than ever before.
More than 20,000 people are expected to flock to Akoonah Park during the two-day event and take part in a wide range of activities on offer.
It will be a mix of rural and city style attractions with dog jumping contests next to the latest side show attractions.
The event will feature horse and cattle competitions alongside the country classics of gumboot throwing and the grand parade.
Another popular site will be the animal nursery with children able to get close to the many baby animals on display.
Casey mayor Colin Butler encouraged residents of all ages to attend the local event.
“The Berwick Show features a range of entertainment, activities and spectacles. It’s a great time to celebrate our farm culture and be part of an important tradition – the unbeatable Berwick Show,” Cr Butler said.
“I encourage all Casey residents to discover this year’s Berwick Show and hope to see you there.”
Monster trucks will mingle with utes and visitors will be entertained by an array of musical and dramatic performances over the two days.
Fireworks are set to light up the Saturday night sky and several performing arts clubs will be hoping to create some bright lights of their own.
Several show bag stands will be selling bags offering lollies, gifts and a range of other goodies
The fun kicks off at 9am on both days with children under 10 admitted free.
Entry is $15 for adults until 6pm then $6, $8 for aged pensioners, $8 for children aged 10 to 15, and $30 for a family ticket for two adults and two children.
