Taking time to reflect

OATLANDS Primary School stopped to pay its respects last Friday at its annual Anzac Day ceremony.
The school’s 700 students as well as members from the RSL, the Royal Navy band and Narre Warren Police attended the moving ceremony.
Principal Stuart Daly said commemorating Anzac Day and paying respects had become an important part of the Narre Warren school’s culture.
“It is a time for us to stop and reflect and pay our respects and the kids can learn about an important facet in life,” he said.
British Consul General Peter West and Margaret Markovic from the Melbourne Shrine of Remembrance also attended the ceremony, along with local MPs and many parents and teachers.
