AN ARMED bandit had nowhere to run on Sunday when a brave service station attendant locked him inside his Berwick petrol station before alerting police.
The incident occurred about 4.25am when a man entered the Shell Service Station on High Street armed with a plastic packaging knife.
Police said the raider threatened the attendant but the member of staff was able to lock the station’s sliding doors and trap the raider.
Onlookers contacted police after witnessing the incident and seeing a vehicle waiting nearby with four people sitting inside. Police say all those involved in the raid were arrested.
