School team on a roll

LOOK out Melbourne Phoenix – Oatlands Primary School is on the move.
The Narre Warren school’s netball team blitzed all before them as they won the Kea Cup for the first time recently.
The team won all nine games on the first day of the inter-schools round robin competition at St Margaret’s School in Berwick and backed up the following day to win their first final by 12 goals to two.
The grand final was played against Emerald Primary School, which fielded a team for the first time.
Coach Amber Holland said the game was played in great spirit and wonderful sportsmanship was shown by all players.
She said all players gave their all and it was a inspiring final.
The final score was 15 goals to five in favour of Oatlands.
Fellow students back at school were not left out of the fun either with the match broadcast live over local radio.
The match was then relayed to the classrooms through the school’s public address system.
Ms Holland said she was thrilled with her players and delighted when the Kea Cup was presented to the team.
