School hall opened

A NEW hall was officially opened at James Cook Primary School last week.
The Endeavour Hills school contributed more than $17,000 to the project and also received a $150,000 Federal Government grant through the Investing in Our Schools program.
Victorian Senator Mitch Fifield joined Liberal candidate for Holt Emanuele Cicchiello at the opening of the hall which will provide the school with a large area to hold assemblies, lessons and performing art activities in a comfortable learning environment.
“Our students deserve the best possible learning environment in which to realise their potential and the Federal Government is providing the funding to allow this to happen,” Sen Fifield said.
“Our local schools are better placed to identify what they need than politicians in Canberra or Spring Street,” he said.
“I am delighted to see such a strong level of support flowing to our local schools. With more than $4 million having been provided to 32 schools in Holt since the program commenced in 2005, this funding is filling a critical need in public education.
“I congratulate the parents, teachers and students of James Cook Primary School for all their hard work in bringing this wonderful learning facility to fruition,” he said.
