RSL bowlers stay in hunt

IN ladies’ pennant bowls Cranbourne RSL B1 played Noble Park at home and won by 39 points. Scores were: Lorna Ambrose 30-18, Sandra Bright 29-25, Helene Rogers 28-13, Esmay May 30-22.
Ladies team 2 in Section 6 played Dandenong RSL/Rec and won by four points. Scores were: Ann Darby 22-27, Veronica Robertson 25-16.
On Saturday Cranbourne RSL played a draw on shots and Division 3 had a tight tussle over four rinks against Mulgrave Country Club. Scores were: N. Drummond 28-24, B. Jones 25-27, D. Wood 16-17, M. Watkinson 21-22. RSL was still holding ground for the second half of the season and hoped to finish well.
Division 6 remained on top but lost the day overall with two rinks up against Willow Lodge. Scores were: B. Preston 34-28, L. Coate 22-18, D. Ambrose 21-23, G. Lacey 12-34.
On a difficult day RSL battled a determined Willow Lodge. A small hiccup will steel RSL for a strong finish to the season.
