Roads survey goes into cruise control

ROAD condition surveys will be obtained throughout Casey in the coming weeks using a high-tech four-wheel-drive, equipped with multiple high-speed video cameras.
The car will soon be driving at a slow pace around the City of Casey’s entire road network of about 1300 kilometres to video and collect data on the condition of the roads.
Using state-of-the-art technology, such as global positioning systems, the data collection process is expected to take about eight weeks.
The aim of the project is to assess the condition of the roads and kerbs to assist with council’s replacement and refurbishment programs.
