Reaching out in friendship across the miles

THEY say it’s better to give than to receive,
Friends of Ermera president Jan Trezise presented the Gleneagles’ students with a banner made by an East Timorese school.
The Gleneagles students had created and painted a friendship banner for the 10 April 99 school earlier this year, so they were delighted that their joy of giving had been reciprocated.
The banner to the 10 April 99 School gave its students some insight into school life at Gleneagles.
Also included in the initial package was a blank banner and some art materials so the East Timorese students could create their own banner depicting their school life for the students of Gleneagles.
