COMMONWEALTH Games fever hit Chalcot Lodge Primary School last week with the ‘Queen’ even joining in the fun-filled festivities.
Students taking part in the Golden Circle Fun Run helped raise funds for the Endeavour Hills school and also staged their own opening ceremony as part of the celebrations.
Each year level also took part in a Queen’s baton relay representing many of the Commonwealth nations.
Students made both an Australian flag and their chosen country’s flag and also presented information regarding their country.
Represented countries included Nigeria, Scotland, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Jamaica, Malaysia and Mauritius.
Assistant principal Ms Ghirxi also dressed up as Queen Elizabeth, adding a regal touch to the day’s celebrations.
