Pure high for Octane

Devon Meadows-trained greyhound star Pure Octane bounced back from his disappointing Topgun loss three weeks ago to win the $15,000 feature Silver Bullet over 525 metres at the Meadows, taking its record to 20 wins from 30 starts.

Trained by Darren McDonald, who was assisted by his son Dylan, Pure Octane was clearly the |punters’ choice before the race and did not disappoint, winning easily by three-and-a-half lengths.

The star sprinter now has more than $165,000 in winnings to its name and maintained its perfect career record from box three, winning its fourth consecutive race from that alley.
