THE school holidays are nearly half way through but there is still plenty to do when school is out in the City of Casey.
Casey’s 2007 spring school holidays events and activities directory showcases an array of activities and programs for children, teenagers and families.
One of the highlights for primary school-aged children will be the Junior Bunyip program’s nature-based, birds of prey activity at Wilson Botanic Park in Berwick.
This program for children aged 6-10 years will explore the question of “How do you eat with no teeth?”
It includes a search for birds of prey in the park and an arts and craft activity.
The cost is $12.50 and bookings and prepayment are required.
Contact 9707 5818 for more details.
For teenagers, a highlight of Casey’s teenage school holiday program is the free youth fest day on Wednesday 3 October from 9.30am to 3pm at Arthur Wren Hall, Hampton Park.
Bookings are essential and transport is available for this event. The day will include a range of activities such as cooking, sports, arts and crafts, games and heaps more, while learning about all the things the council’s youth services has to offer, from DJ equipment on the VIBE bus to youth support services at the Youth Information Centres. Lunch is also included.
Copies of the Casey school holidays events and activities directory and teenage school holiday program are available by contacting customer service on 9705 5200 or at www.casey.vic.gov.au.
