HALLAM CFA’s inaugural open day has been deemed an overwhelming success after more than 500 people turned out on Sunday.
Highlights of the day included home fire safety displays, demonstrations by the brigade’s running team and a hazardous materials (HAZMAT) response exercise.
The Hallam Brigade Auxiliary provided a sausage sizzle throughout the day and police and Emergency Services Minister Tim Holding paid his first visit to the station.
The Junior Fire Brigade also took part in a hose drill display and Captain Koala, the CFA mascot, also made an appearance.
