KAMBRYA College students hit the right note last week when the Royal Australian Navy Band treated them to a memorable musical performance.
Students from all year levels packed the school’s theatre and were enthralled by the talents of the Cerberus based musicians.
Kambrya’s instrumental music coordinator, Kate Lock, said the band played a vital role in building positive relationships with the community as well as being involved in formal ceremonies and supporting Australian troops overseas.
“The band was invited out to the college to help promote its burgeoning instrumental music program, which involves over 100 students from all year levels,” Ms Lock said.
“With six specialised instrumental music staff – all active performers – students are able to take lessons on instruments as diverse as drums, sax, clarinet, flute and piano.
“With all that inspiration we’ll certainly be watching the talent emerge this year,” she said.
