Narre North struggles for runs

A POOR batting display by Narre North in B grade turned the match against Lynbrook into a tough contest on Saturday.

Batting first, Narre North was dismissed for 148 with Rob Calvert (48), Tafun Akin (36) and Leon Lutertz (20) being the only batsmen to offer resistance. Narre North managed to pick up a wicket to have Lynbrook 1/3 at the end of the day’s play.

After being asked to bat first, Narre North’s batsmen struggled all day in their match against Keysborough, being dismissed for 137 after batting all day, Matt Keoglien (46) being the best of the batsmen.

Narre North asked Hallam to bat after winning the toss, but plans went astray when Hallam batted all day and posted 184. Best of the bowlers was Ian Kerelovic (4/25).

In hot and dusty conditions, Narre North won the toss and elected to bowl. Assisted by 10 dropped chances, Keysborough was able to post 249. Best of the bowlers were John Cruise (3/75) and Shane Adams (3/43).

Narre North’s bowlers performed well, getting great support from the fielders to dismiss Berwick for 150. Mat Ruprecht (2/16) and Daniel Alarcon (2/20) were the best.

Fine batting by Narre North against Springvale South amassing 2/224, thanks to Rukmal Widyananda making his third 50 for the season. Josh Tonna (47 not out), Nathan Pulham (43 not out) and Stuart Patterson (40) were also among the runs.

Asked to bat, Narre North worked hard to bat the day out and posted a respectable 5/153 against Buckley Ridges. Openers Jacob Matwijkiw (20) and Bharvin Parbhu (21) got a great start before the side slumped to be 5/59. Billy Bianco (33 not out) and Sahil Sahib (40 not out) then put together a good partnership after drinks and batted out the morning.

Narre North toiled hard all morning to contain the Dandenong North batsmen after being asked to bowl. At the end of the day’s play Narre North was 6/233, Bradie Gledhill (2/23) being the best of the bowlers 2/23.

Springvale South won the toss and elected to bat. Thanks to some fine bowling and fielding Narre North restricted the opposition to 8/163 off 46 overs. Everyone contributed throughout the morning with Chris Edwards (2/13) and Prasad Radakrishnan (2/8) being the best of the bowlers.

@BT Sub Sport News:UNDER 11 SATURDAY

Playing Cranbourne, Narre North fielded first and dismissed them for 100 runs. Having to bat for 30 minutes, Narre North then made 2/39.
