Lionesses span the generations

COMMUNITY spirit is alive and well at the Endeavour Hills Lioness Club where three generations are represented.
Dorothy Brennan first joined the local Lioness Club just over six years ago and was soon followed into the fold by her daughter, Deborah Miles.
Ms Brennan’s grand-daughter, teenager Kate Miles, joined the club about 18 months ago and hasn’t looked back.
The family, along with other Endeavour Hills Lioness Club members, helps raise funds for community projects with a focus on providing financial support to families with disabled children.
Other activities include the Relay for Life cancer research fundraiser, distribution of hampers, Lions Christmas cakes sales as well as the occasional fashion parade and trivia night.
“It’s very rewarding. It certainly keeps us busy and we all get to spend time together,” Ms Brennan said.
She said all three of them had recently been gift-wrapping at Endeavour Hills Shopping Centre in the lead up to Mother’s Day last week.
“We are always looking for new members and warmly welcome them to the club,” she said.
Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at The Andrews Centre, Hanna Drive, Endeavour Hills.
