POLICE have appealed for public help following the attempted theft of a mini-bike in Harkaway last Thursday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Ian Wilcox said the incident occurred between 4.15pm and 4.20pm at a Halleur Road property when a man forced a rear door and entered the home.
Det Sen Sgt said the man was driving a silver Holden Rodeo with dual cab and canopy and took the mini-bike before attempting to place it into the car.
It appears that the bike did not fit inside the car and the man subsequently left the bike in the driveway before driving off.
Police have now released two images, one of the man they wish to question and the other of his vehicle.
The man is in his 20s, of thin build, between 185cm and 190cm and wearing a white polo shirt with a blue stripe across the chest, dark trousers and a baseball cap.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Det Sen Const Tony Ross, of Narre Warren CIU, on 9705 3111, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
