HELP Hallam hiphoppers NV US beat Sydney’s best.
That’s the message from Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan, who is calling on the Casey community to open their wallets in support of the group of Hallam teenagers wanting to go to Sydney to compete in the National Battlegrounds hiphop dance competition in October.
Mr Donnellan has kickstarted fundraising activities by donating $250 towards the trip, but wants the community to also get behind the talented youngsters from the First Step Dance Academy in Melverton Drive, Hallam.
“This group is well placed to go all the way and win the Sydney competition. It will break their hearts if they can’t raise enough money to go,” Mr Donnellan said.
“I urge all Casey families and even the Casey Council to rally behind them and support them financially.
“All of the children in the group live in the City of Casey. They will make Casey very proud.”
Last week, the group won the Groove 2005 Dance Competition in Essendon against 12 others crews.
The National Battlegrounds dance competition in Sydney is scheduled for Saturday 8 October.
People wanting to donate to the group can phone Bev Davies on 9562 6933.
