HOONS will soon be unable to invade an Endeavour Hills reserve with their cars.
Next month The City of Casey will erect fencing at Rod Laver Reserve to stop motorists driving onto the area and tearing up the grass with ‘burn-outs’ and other destructive activities.
Casey manager works and operations, Alex Micheli, said fences would be erected at entrances at both John Hunter Drive and Arthur Phillip Drive in Endeavour Hills in July.
At last Tuesday’s council meeting deputy mayor Rob Wilson presented a petition containing more than 20 residents’ signatures concerned about what they described as hoon activity at the reserve.
However, plans were already in place to install the fencing before the petition was tabled.
